If you love to play golf, and you need to live near New York City because of your work, then you need to look at homes for sale that are close to golf courses. You will want to look at homes that are in areas where you can spend the weekend relaxing at the links. While there are courses not too far from Manhattan, it's going to be a hassle to travel to them. Rather than spend your time on the subway lugging your gear around with you, you could have an easy commute to the links from your home outside of the city. Here is a list of areas to consider. One is actually located in New York City, and the others are located in the suburbs.

Riverdale

If you don't feel like living in the suburbs, then a perfect choice for your new home is Riverdale. This neighborhood is located in The Bronx. It's one of the less dense areas in the city, and you can find a home with a backyard. The area is very green, with an abundance of parks. One of those parks, Van Cortland, has a huge public golf course. It's a premiere destination for New York City residents who love to play golf. You don't have to pay a fee to join a private country club. All you have to do is sign up on a list. Best of all, the park is within walking distance of Riverdale.

You can by a house that has a big backyard, but there are also some affordable homes that are co-ops and are much less expensive if you happen to be on a budget. The area is also super convenient for anyone who has to work in Manhattan. You can just take the train right into the city.

Ardsley

This town in Westchester is one of the best places for people who want a big home and also want to be close to weekend golf activities. The area is one of the nicest places in all of Westchester. The housing stock is primarly single family homes. Some of them are quite large and extravagant, but there are also some rather modest homes to consider. There are not that many co-ops. The town has a very intimate vibe, with a small downtown section with cafes and boutique shops. And it's exceptionally easy to get into Manhattan. All you have to do is take the train (Metro North) right into Penn Station.
